91Ö±²¥Education Announces Dr. Karen Holbrook and James Roth Join Board of Directors
CHICAGO (June 4, 2018) â 91Ö±²¥Education is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Karen Holbrook, PhD., regional chancellor at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee and former interim president of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and past president of The Ohio State University, and James H. Roth, chief executive officer and president of Huron.Â
91Ö±²¥has achieved tremendous global growth during the past few years, adding more than 20 university partners to its online program management portfolio. The appointment of Holbrook and Roth underscores the companyâs commitment to expanding access to high-quality education for students through online learning.

Karen A. Holbrook, PhD., currently serves as regional chancellor at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee and previously served as interim president of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. From 2002-2007, Dr. Holbrook served as president of The Ohio State University and has held a variety of university leadership roles at University of Georgia, University of Florida, and University of Washington.
Dr. Holbrook has been elected to numerous other educational leadership boards, advisory panels and counsels, including the Institute of International Education (IIE) board of trustees, the American Council of Education (ACE) board of advisors, among others. She earned bachelor's and masterâs degrees in zoology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a doctorate in biological structure at the University of Washington, School of Medicine.

James H. Roth has served as CEO of Huron, a global consultancy with a leading higher education business, since July 2009, and as president since March 2011. Prior to his tenure as CEO, Mr. Roth was a managing director and leader of the Company's Education consulting business, which has worked with more than 500 higher education and research institutions, including the top 100 comprehensive research universities, to improve enrollment, retention and graduation rates, and help find unique ways to make education more accessible and affordable for students.
Roth serves in a variety of leadership positions, including on the board of Huron and Shorelight Holdings LLC, a US-based company that partners with nonprofit universities to increase access and retention of international students and boost institutional growth. He earned a masterâs degree in finance and business administration from Southern Methodist University and a bachelorâs degree in political science and economics from Vanderbilt University.
